This week that's just passed at work..

When Elizabeth doesn't have anything for me to do I have been working on my shorts that I make and sell. I use vintage Levi's jeans, cut them into shorts and sometimes dye them. I customize them with studs and rip them so they look worn and distressed. 

I have been working on these and Elizabeth has sometimes been helping me along the way, giving me tips and ideas on what I could do with them. Last week I went round the thrift stores and got 6 pairs of jeans because I knew I would be working on them in the studio. It's really good that Elizabeth lets me work on my own projects in the studio because I have everything I need there as well as her help with anything I need to know or need advice with. 

I decided to add different fabrics to the new shorts I was creating, I found different scraps around the studio just to see what they would look like on the shorts. I took some quick snaps of them to put on here. 

They aren't finished yet, I need to put studs on them and fray/rip them etc.. But here they are so far to see what I have been working on to do with my own work and I will sell them when I get home. 

All this week as well as my shorts I am also working on making bags with the jeans, Elizabeth was wondering why I wasn't doing anything with the legs of the jeans, because I use the top bit she said I shouldn't throw away the legs because I can use them. So then we came up with the idea of making bags, so i have been a busy bee making different types and using fabric dye paints and different things! 

^ I love this one, they obviously aren't finished but I think i need to keep this one for myself! Just needs some studs or spikes and its perfect! (anyone who knows me well knows I am a little obsessed with studs and spikes).

The more colourful ones i think i will probably try and sell when I am back on the island, out of my Dad's office. Everyone loves anything close to tie-dye on that island! 

I am really glad that i'm working on my own stuff while i'm here, because I love making my own stuff and selling it and it keeps me even busier while i'm over here! 

So that has been my last week at work really! Along with jobs for Elizabeth, stitching bits of garments and assisting with fittings and selling things in the shop. There's always something different going on each day!
