On the Monday, we drove back to Dallas and after a long 7 hours we arrived back. We got in quite late as we stopped at San Marcos outlets which is a huge outdoor outlet centre that has all different levels of shops from Gucci to Gap. I went into Barneys New York and saw an amazing Alexander Wang bag but I had to let it go because it was just a clutch so didn't have a strap so i probably wouldn't have used it! I did not want to let that bag go though!

After a good look round in the almost unbearable heat we got back on the road for the rest of the trip.

The morning after and I was back at work and it was time to sew, sew, sew! I have been practicing sewing as much as possible on all different fabrics so that I am more confident on an industrial machine, sewing all different types of fabrics has made me understand fabrics more and get a lot more comfortable in sewing them.

That week we had different customers again, and as usual i love to listen to the stories of the customers to know who Elizabeth's customers are and get to know them a bit for when they come back into the studio.

All week in the studio there was different bits of things going on, Elizabeth had different meetings booked, and I also got to meet two of Elizabeth's old interns that came into the studio so I was talking to them most of the day on Wednesday of that week!

At the end of last week, Chelsea, Elizabeth's old intern and her friends had invited me to their apartment on Friday night for a moving in party, I agreed to go and thought it was really nice of them to invite me and include me on what they were doing! This made me feel a lot better about being over here because I had been missing home.

Friday came along and me and Elizabeth had been invited to a Fashion presentation by one of the students from El Centro college, which is in Downtown Dallas. We said we would go and were looking forward to seeing the designs of Edgar Gomez.

The presentation was of Edgar's new collection, 'The Birth Of Venus' it was on Dragon Street in Dallas which is known for art and is just a street full of design studios and art galleries. It was really amazing to see one student creating his own personal collection and creating his own show without the help of the college at all. When we arrived it wasn't what we thought it would be, we were expecting a fashion show with a catwalk and the gallery to be all seated. But it was different to this, all the models were stood on platforms for around 2 hours and you could walk around and look closely at all the designs and see the fabric and textures up close. I thought this was a really good idea because you could look properly at all the garments rather than them walking past you like a flash on a catwalk!

I loved going to the presentation and it was really good to see it so busy! Edgar's collection was amazing and I am glad that I got the chance to see it.

The photo above is two dresses from Edgar's previous work that he also had on show at the presentation.

When we left the presentation I went to see Chelsea and her friends and their apartment! I had a really nice time I met a lot of new people and I am definitely going to keep in touch with them throughout my stay here and when I get home.
They live in a little apartment complex that has a courtyard in the middle with a pool and huge comfy sofas so we all sat around there it was really good! :)
